Sen. Krist says Gov. Ricketts not doing enough for Nebraska farmers on trade war

“Farmers don't want a handout. They want this trade war to end.”

LINCOLN, NE – Sen. Bob Krist, candidate for Nebraska Governor, said today that Gov. Pete Ricketts should be doing more to stand up for Nebraska farmers and oppose the disastrous trade war.

“Gov. Ricketts should be doing everything in his power to stand up for Nebraska farmers and oppose this disastrous policy. This is what I will do as Governor,” Krist said.

“Unfortunately, Pete Ricketts values his relationship with the White House more than he values the needs of Nebraska farmers. I promise you, I won't sit silent as a President of any party declares ‘tariffs are the greatest!’ while farmers face an economic calamity as a result of those tariffs. And I don't think a $12 billion Band-Aid is going to fix anything. Farmers don't want a handout. They want this trade war to end,” Krist said.
